Ticketmaster + Livenation Merger

Here is a great article that effects the ticket industry and thus the venue industry. If Ticketmaster merges with Live Nation they will then sell tickets to venues and manage venues. The Live Nation + Ticketmaster merger would create a company with control over each step of the event going process... tickets, fan websites, artist management, venue management etc. Is this a merger that could hurt the fans or the consumers of these products?
